I've read Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, Omnivore's Dilemma, In Defense of Food,
I've seen King Korn, The world according to monsanto, Patent for a pig, fed up, food, inc.,....etc...etc.....
I can and garden...
Hubby hunts...
We grow our own meat birds and have layers...
We have pigs....
BUT:
We drink coffee.
I love chocolate.
I love cheese.
I shop at Costco and Superstore....
I have some changes to make. Do you?

I feel the same way!!! That damn Costco keeps pulling me in to stock up on stuff I can not get cheaper anywhere else. But I have been giving this some thought. For an example, I can save all my own seed and be self sufficient. But if enough of us do that, no one will buy seeds from great companies like Johneys Selected Seed(no gmo, employee owned, hates monsato). Now they go out of business, lots of good people loose their jobs, and we loose another company fighting the good fight. Should I shop at Costco -NO, but should I strive for total self sufficiency? I don't Know.
